New look Punch recruitment site proves big hit
Press Release

Punch Taverns has launched a new recruitment website, designed to give potential landlords a comprehensive guide to entering the licensed trade.

The site, accessible via www.punchpubs.co.uk, has been developed as part of the company’s integration of the former Pubmaster estate.

For several years Punch has had a successful internet recruitment facility which in the past 12 months has accounted for 26 per cent applications received.  It registered an average of 1.2 million hits a month.

The company’s new site aims to build on this success and provide a one stop guide to all the options open to people considering a career running their own pub business.

Information ranges from vacancies available across Punch’s estate, to a more detailed insight into what it takes to run a successful pub.

People accessing the site can get up to the minute help and advice on different routes into the trade, how leases work, costs involved and the importance of taking independent advice before making any decisions.

The site also provides details on Punch’s links to accountants, stock takers and other professionals who offer business support, as well as information about issues affecting the trade so that anyone thinking of taking on a Punch pub has a full and thorough understanding of what it takes to succeed.

Adam Smith, Punch’s head of retailer recruitment, said: “Our internet recruitment facility is extremely successful as it provides people with instant and up to date quality information on pubs that are available.

“But it goes further than that by offering useful and thorough advice, answering all the important questions that people who want to run their own pub will have - reaffirming our commitment to having an open and honest approach to pub retailing.”

People accessing the recruitment site can obtain detailed information on what it takes to run a pub and current vacancies within seconds.  Applicants then log in details before credit checks and screening interviews are carried out, all within five working days.
