“We focus on providing Sunday roasts which are prepared from scratch and we use locally sourced ingredients where possible. We are really looking forward to the cook-off!” Max Baker, Dog & Bull, Coton, Whitchurch

The Dog & Bull in Coton, Whitchurch is competing in a national cook-off after being nominated for a prestigious industry award recognising the high standards of their food offer.

The pub put themselves forward for the Morning Advertiser Great British Pub Food Awards - a nationwide search to find the best food focused pubs and licensees in the UK.

After being selected as finalists in the Roast category by a judging panel, the Dog & Bull will be competing against two other pubs to cook a three course Sunday Lunch on Monday 31st January.

Punch Partner, Max Baker, who’s been at the pub for more than two years, explains: “We are so pleased to be in the final three.  We feel that the £350K refurbishment last year played a big part in the pub getting this far in the competition, as without the extension we wouldn’t have been able to have a new kitchen and widen our menu.

“We focus on providing Sunday roasts which are prepared from scratch and we use locally sourced ingredients where possible. We are really looking forward to the cook-off!”
The team at the pub are invited to a prestigious awards ceremony at the Plaisteres Hall, London, on 10th March where the results will be announced.
