“I wanted to bring the pub back to its former glory when it was called the White Horse 20 years ago. I was born and bred in London Colney and knew the potential of the pub." Simon Niemiec, White Horse, London Colney

London Colney pub, the White Horse, has been completely rebranded and has introduced a new food offer following an extensive revamp.

The new look pub, previously called the Pear & Partridge, benefitted from a joint £160k refurbishment by owners Punch Taverns and licensees Simon Niemiec and Mev Madoorapen.

The pub has been transformed with full internal and external redecoration, including a new seating area outside, new bar, new toilets and new furniture.

Licensee Simon Niemiec, who has been at the pub since April, said: “I wanted to bring the pub back to its former glory when it was called the White Horse 20 years ago. I was born and bred in London Colney and knew the potential of the pub. I’ve managed pubs before but this is the first one which I’ve taken on myself, with the support of Punch.

“We’ve introduced food to the pub, which it never had before, providing affordable meals using fresh produce. Since the revamp, food has really taken off and we’ve started an ‘Over 65s’ day offering two courses for the price of one. We’re also encouraging customers to return by giving out loyalty cards so customers can build up points which they can then spend on food and drink.”

Punch Taverns’ business relationship manager, Mike Taylor adds: “We’re delighted to be working with Simon on the revamp of the White Horse. Simon and his team have some great plans to deliver a fantastic customer experience with affordable quality food and trade building ideas that will cater to all and they have our full support.”
