Profiles: Day in the life of a Regional Estates Executive

Having developed a plan with the Regional Operations Director, your days are filled making it come to life in a region, covering around 500 leased and tenanted pubs.

Investment is a prime driver in our business and I work with my Development Manager to deliver in excess of £4 million of projects each year.

More demanding is the challenge of bringing opportunities to the table through the ten Business Relationship Managers in my region. This is done through site visits to discuss the potential, developing the Business Relationship Managers vision, training them on the documentation and coaching them through the investment process.

With responsibility for the regions rent role, Punch have an evaluations system, which I manage, to deliver sustainable growth. This involves a lot of administrative work and all rent reviews and lease renewal approvals go through the Regional Estates Executive and solicitor instructions thereafter.

As a Regional Estates Executive you have at least one Estates Surveyor reporting directly to you. Their role is to manage dilapidations, repairs and investment.

I’m responsible for much of the Business Relationship Managers action in running their area. Regular meetings to go through all aspects from generating growth to resolving business issues are discussed. This is a diverse role in the operations team whilst having a defined property bias.

No day is ever the same and every day brings new challenges.
