Industry regulation: UK competition law
With effect from 1st March 2000, the Competition Act 1998 introduced into UK law a prohibition on restrictive agreements (the "Chapter 1 Prohibition") closely modelled on Article 81 of the EC Treaty.
The Group’s lease arrangements are vertical in nature (i.e. are between entities operating at different levels of trade such as landlords and tenant retailers). As such, they are currently excluded from the application of the Chapter 1 Prohibition. |
