Title
Punch Pub Company induction for expansion
Press Release
Continued expansion has prompted Punch Pub Company to introduce a comprehensive five day induction course.

The course includes an introduction to the company and an explanation of the company's three year plan highlighting key objectives and processes of all departments.

Director of recruitment and training, Stephen Gould said the feedback from the first course, which began last month, was very positive.

"Proper staff induction has the buy in of all departments and each department head participates throughout the week, so new staff gain a very strong sense of what the company is about," he said.

"And because of the interactive nature of the course, new staff gain a real understanding of other people's job roles - for example head office staff find out how the field based staff operate and vice versa."

Trainee BDM Gary Conway attended the first induction course and said he was impressed by how professional it was.

"It was an excellent course and it was obvious how much thought had gone into it," he said.

"It is a very good grounding for anyone who is new to Punch and the industry and explained clearly Punch's goals for the future and how your job fitted into those.

"It was also a great opportunity to meet other new starters and to understand what they do and how you can work in partnership to support each other."

Odette Ralphs, an operations admin assistant for Punch's London region, said the course had been a great all round experience.

"It was really useful to learn about other people's roles within the business - especially the business development managers - as I am working in a support role for them," she said.

"The course gave me a good insight into how what I do fits into the bigger picture of what the company is aiming for."

The course forms part of an award winning programme of ongoing training for all members of Punch Pub Company staff and licensees.

"We are constantly examining and updating our training provision to make sure all the needs of the organisation are met," said Stephen.
