Punch Pub Company has appointed Mike Taylor as recruitment and training manager.

Mike, formerly a business development manager for Inn Business, Punch’s tenanted division, will be responsible for pubs throughout London and the South East.

He said: “These are areas I know particularly well thanks to my time as a BDM so it will be interesting to approach the region from a training and recruitment perspective.

“My role is essentially to attract fresh talent to Punch Pub Company outlets, market new opportunities and help retailers strengthen their businesses through the provision of first class training.”

Punch Pub Company has 4,300 leased and tenanted pubs throughout the UK, with approximately 1,500 operating in London and the South East.

“There are opportunities here for total newcomers to the licensed trade as well as more experienced operators who may be looking for a second pub or a change of scene,” added Mike.

Mike, from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, has worked with Punch Pub Company since its formation in April 1998. 

Prior to that he spent time with what was the Bass Lease Company, Gala Bingo Clubs and Megabowl.  Mike also has first hand experience of running his own pub.
