Punch Taverns is witnessing record levels of applications and appointments across its estate of 7,800 leased and tenanted pubs in the UK.
In the six months up to May applications increased 32 per cent and new lettings rose by a staggering 150 per cent.
Francis Patton, customer services director at Punch said: “We’re delighted to see a trend of increased interest in the licensed trade, with average enquiries to our recruitment team doubling since autumn last year.
“Our retailer agreement offers budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to run their own business with award winning training and business support from our network of business relationship managers.”
Punch expanded last year with the acquisition of InnSpired. The pubco now operates a quality estate which includes everything from city centre bars, to cosy locals and traditional rural retreats.
The company recruited 450 retailers during 2004. This year, Punch expects to let 624 pubs, with another 707 leases to be assigned.
Recruitment is primarily through Punch's network of retailer recruitment managers, with information also available through this website.
Previous experience is not always necessary since Punch provides full induction training including the NCL. Punch offers BII accredited training and currently holds two National Innkeeping Training Awards (NITAs).
