Punch Taverns pubs are outshining their competitors in an innovative awards scheme.

A total of 192 outlets have reached the regional finals of the leased and tenanted pubco’s annual Shine awards competition.

Pubs have been shortlisted in four different Shine categories – Best Food Experience, Drinks Experience, Community Experience and Customer Experience.

The results will be announced at a series of presentation lunches over the next two months.

Event organiser Nicola Highton, who is also Punch Taverns’ head of communications, said: “The Shine awards offer much deserved recognition for those pub retailers that go the extra mile.

“These individuals have done fantastically well to be shortlisted and we wish them every success in the regional finals.”

Following the regional lunches, Punch will unveil its final 16 retailers who progress to a national final.

They will be in with a chance of winning a £1,000 top prize plus a two week luxury holiday for two.

The national Shine champion will be decided by a public telephone and text message vote, with all proceeds being donated to charity.
