Punch Taverns is raising the bar for retailer support with the unveiling of a brand new induction programme.
‘Off to a Flying Start’ is a series of one to one workshops delivered by Punch’s business relationship managers (BRMs) during the first six months of a new lease agreement.
Sessions include the basics of pub retailing, financial planning, marketing, promotions and quality standards.
The workshops are complemented by a new reference file, the Punch Pub Pack, which is crammed full of essential information about Punch, its support mechanisms, the licensed trade, catering in pubs and key legislative matters.
Punch’s customer operations director Chris Moore said the aim was to get new leasehold businesses off on the best possible foot.
He said: “Any new business is at its most vulnerable in the early days and we want to ensure Punch retailers have plenty of guidance and support available.
“BRMs will present retailers with their packs before they start trading, so everything is properly in place for a strong start on day one. The material within it will prove invaluable and is displayed in a format that is user friendly and easy for us to update with any new developments.
“This fresh approach represents a thorough, professional start to each business relationship we form and reinforces the fact that leasing a pub is a partnership not a solo venture.”
Punch Taverns is the UK’s largest pub operator with more than 8,400 leased, tenanted and managed outlets.
