New search makes finding the perfect pub easier
Press Release

Punch Taverns has enhanced the recruitment section of its website, upgrading search functions to make it even easier to find the perfect pub.

A new search facility has been incorporated into the site which enables prospective publicans to search any location via postcode or town name for pubs available either as new leases or business transfers.

Adam Smith, Punch Taverns head of retailer recruitment explains: “The recruitment section of our website is a vital resource for us. It is our most effective recruitment tool, providing the majority of our new retailers, so this development is a real step forward for us and our potential publicans.

“When a user searches the site a map is generated showing which pubs are available in their chosen area. By clicking on the pub icons displayed on the map a ‘bubble’ containing a photograph and exact location details of the pub selected  are displayed. From this it is possible to link directly to details about the pub and an application form. Users can also access google maps, sat nav downloads and visual maps of where pubs are located.

The Punch Taverns website receives an average of just over 34,000 ‘hits’ per month. There are over a 1,000 potential retailers registered in Punch’s ‘talent bank’ – ready and waiting for a suitable pub to become available.

Matt Luckham of Lucrosus Software which undertook the upgrade of the site for Punch said: “I am delighted that Punch Taverns chose our product BizMap Pro to provide this enhanced search facility.  The product is ideally suited for this type of activity and the new site provides an innovative and effective way for licensees to find their new pub business.”
