Punch won the Innovation in Management Accounting award at the CIMA Financial Management Awards in association with the Financial Times. 
 
The awards, held at The London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, were hosted by Sandi Toksvig, the celebrated comedian, author, radio and TV presenter.  The awards recognise those who have been inspirational in developing the finance profession and the organisations that operate within it throughout the world. This includes the people, the teams and the organisations that have made a considerable difference with their up most commitment to the profession.

Nominees in the Innovation category needed to highlight the design, implementation and use of a significant innovation in the practice of management accounting to show how accountants can improve decision making in organisations to help create value. 

Punch Taverns Knowledge Team provided an innovative approach to bring together all the information needed by their operations teams into one single place on the corporate intranet and to provide the ability for them to drill into the information to analyse trends and performance. The design, development and implementation of an interactive web-based platform to deliver both financial and operational information, as well as personalised homepages for each member of the operations team were cited as impressive and effective.

The judges were impressed by the clear link to corporate strategy and the way the project improved business engagement throughout the organisation by relating financial information clearly to day-to-day activities.
