Record numbers of licensees placed a record number of orders when they joined Punch on the road at one of nine roadshows held across the UK – designed to help them make the most of their pubs.
The shows - held in Edinburgh, London, Bolton, Leeds, Derby, Bristol, Birmingham, Wembley and Chester - saw a record breaking 30% increase in attendance levels. Representatives from 2,107 of Punch’s 8,400 outlets attended compared to 1,522 attendees last year with 94% of those attendees placing orders.
The shows saw a huge range of drinks and food exhibitors, business building seminars, top deals on best selling brands and lots of tips and advice to help licensees to improve their profit margins.
One of the exhibitors, Brakes demonstrated how careful garnishes and decoration could help increase the price consumers are willing to pay for food while, the seminar ‘Simple Changes-More Profit’ looked at the importance of serving drinks in the correct size glasses.
Licensee Richard Pope, who runs the Bulls Head, Derby, attended the Pride Park show. He said: “The show far exceeded my expectations – it was an enormous event and was very professionally organised. There were some really good deals and it was very useful to have the opportunity to chat with fellow operators and share ideas.”
The results of these shows has far exceeded previous years. Field operations director Kevin Georgel comments: “The results are stunning. We are delighted with both the increasing attendance levels and also the greater engagement with our suppliers who can really help our customer’s to improve their businesses. We are passionate about our pubs and these shows are a fantastic opportunity to help them fulfil their potential.”
