Overseal bowled over by Punch's support
Press Release

Burton based pub company, Punch Taverns, has donated £400 from its Punch Community Spirit Project, to help local youngsters learn to play bowls.

The Overseal Memorial Bowls Club, which was established in the 1920s, has received £400 to fund 4 sets of children’s bowls, enabling members to teach children from the neighbouring Overseal Primary School, how to play the traditional game.

Dave Mart, treasurer of the Bowls club comments: “We are delighted that Punch Taverns has decided to support our efforts to involve more of the local community in playing bowls at Overseal. Their grant has enabled us to purchase bowls specially designed for youngsters which means we can now move forward with our plans to forge links with Overseal Primary School.  Many thanks Punch Taverns!”

The Punch Community Spirit Project (PCSP) was set up to make donations to a variety of organisations such as charities, schools, sports clubs, welfare groups and hospitals.
