Punch funds new set of wheels for Oliver
Press Release

Burton based pub company, Punch Taverns, has donated almost £1,200 to the Action for Kids charity to fund a specially adapted trike for a local youngster.

Six year old Oliver Reed from Derby has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair to get around but it can sometimes prevent him from joining in on activities with his friends. His mother got in touch with national disability charity Action For Kids to help with funding, which in turn contacted The Punch Community Spirit Project.

“A huge thank you to both Action For Kids and Punch Taverns for providing us with this trike,” said Oliver’s mother, Carey Wilson. “It will not only offer Oliver the independence he needs to play with his sister and friends but it will also help build strength and coordination and teach him how to move his legs.”

Nigel Turpin, corporate affairs director comments: “Punch is committed to supporting local causes within a fifteen mile radius of its head office in Burton-upon-Trent.  We are delighted to be able to support Oliver and sure he will benefit hugely from the donation.”

The Punch Community Spirit Project (PCSP) was set up to make donations to a variety of organisations such as charities, schools, sports clubs, welfare groups and hospitals.
