Burton based pub company, Punch Taverns, has donated £1600 from its Punch Community Spirit Project, to help the sporting efforts of local youngsters.

John Taylor High School’s mixed Rugby team received £600 towards new kit, while Burton Hockey Club and Albert Village Junior FC both received £500 towards equipment and start-up costs.

Sam Swain of Albert Village Junior FC said: “We are delighted to receive this from Punch.  It will make a real difference to the kids.”

The Punch Community Spirit Project (PCSP) was set up to make donations to a variety of organisations such as charities, schools, sports clubs, welfare groups and hospitals.
