Michael is top for helping pubs grow their business
Press Release
Burton based pub operator Punch Taverns has rewarded the dedication and talents of its top Business Relationship Manager at the company’s annual conference.

Michael Bridger of Nuneaton, Warwickshire won the Business Relationship Manager (BRM) of the Year award in recognition of the exceptional levels of help and support he has provided to pub operators in the West Midlands region.

Michael beat off stiff competition from nominated colleagues who had all won regional heats and then competed head to head in a national final.  Michael was announced as the winner at Punch’s annual company conference last month and was presented with his award by chief executive Giles Thorley.

Michael joined Punch Taverns in September 2005 but has worked in business development roles within the licensed trade for some 20 years.  Former employers include the Spirit Group, now a subsidiary of Punch, plus Tom Cobleigh and Greene King.

Commenting on his achievement Michael said: “It’s such a great privilege to receive this award and I am honoured and proud to have been recommended by my peers.”

He added: “The role of the BRM is to help our customers to improve the performance of their pubs and I’m passionate about building strong relationships with pub operators, helping to make a real difference to their businesses.”

Deborah Kemp, managing director of Punch’s leased division commented on Michael’s commitment to the customers he supports: “Michael has a real passion for his customers and is always focused on doing the right thing by them. It is clear that they really value the help and support he provides.  Great things are very simple and great people do simple things very well.”

Michael has been rewarded with £2000 worth of Thomas Cook holiday vouchers as well as a trophy.
