Product range
Under the tie arrangements provided for in the agreements, our licensees (except those who are subject to a Guest Beer provision) are required to purchase all of their beer from us.

We continue to work closely with our suppliers to ensure we offer an excellent range of beers available.
Retailers may choose from a range of ales, lagers and stouts. A full range of products are supplied by most of the major brewers, including Carlsberg UK, Inbev UK, Coors and Scottish Courage, as well as from numerous smaller brewers.
We are also committed to supplying cask ale to our estate. Last year, we sold 180 different draught beers, including 70 ales as part of our Finest Cask scheme.
The wet products sold to our licensees are sourced through our suppliers, meaning both parties bear the economies of scale of the joint venture. It is due to this scale that we are able to negotiate material discounts on wet products. A proportion of these discounts are passed on to licensees dependant on the type of agreement in place. Brewers and suppliers set a wholesale price for each of their products which we use as the basis for setting our prices for the sale of beer and other products to our licensees.
We also supply cider, wines, spirits, soft drinks and RTDs (ready to drinks) to our retailers.
Connect
To further support our licensees we issue Connect every month. Connect offers our retailers a range of promotional deals and marketing support on all drinks categories, food and other business building opportunities.
Leisure Machines Management
Most of our pubs offer customers use of one or more leisure machines, including AWP (Amusement with Prizes), SWP (Skill with Prizes) and AWOP (Amusement without Prizes).
Using our experience and strong bargaining position, we are able to assist licensees by negotiating favourable supply terms and reviewing machine performance by a team of dedicated machine professionals (Machine Vending Managers). Materials on leisure machine management are also included in our training seminars and manuals.
When negotiating or reviewing an agreement with a prospective or existing licensee, we usually agree the share of leisure machine income we will receive. We believe leisure machine management to be a key growth area for the future.
We also placed 811 ATM machines across our estate, helping licensees build trade. |
