Running your own pub is not just about pulling pints. It requires a wide variety of business skills, all of which are addressed in our ten day Modern Licensed Retailing (MLR) training course.

It is compulsory for all our new licensees to attend the MLR before taking over their pubs. The course covers each topic indicated by the British Institute of Innkeeping for its qualifying examinations, including the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH), and also the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health for the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. 
 
Additional content ranges from market research to cellar management, plus there are practical elements and presentations from key Punch suppliers.
