How to become a Falcon Publican

Our Falcon Retail Contract is designed to give publicans with the appropriate background, skillset and attitude a rewarding and low risk opportunity to operate a Punch Pub.

Do you possess a passion for retail and recognise the importance of delivering consistently outstanding service and standards?

Are you motivated by growing sales and have the ability to recognise opportunities?

Do you have high energy?

Are you a people person with great communication skills?

Do you enjoy guidance and direction?

If the answer is yes, then the Falcon Retail Contract is the ideal arrangement and we would love to hear from you!

There are several crucial steps which you need to take before taking on a Falcon Contact and for help and support with any of this, please contact a member of the recruitment team on 01283 501999

Step One
You will need a BIIAB Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) - a nationally recognised qualification for anyone wishing to apply for a personal licence to become the licensee of a pub in England and Wales. This is a one-day course. For Scotland the Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (SCPLH) must be obtained. To find out more below -

Step Two: Once you’ve gained your personal licence and would like to formally apply, our recruitment team are ready to guide you through the process. We will require a CV, to carry out a brief credit check and see your proof of funding for the small deposit required. To demonstrate that we share in the vision for your preferred pub, you will need to prepare an Operating Plan as part of the interview process.

Step Three: Induction Training is an important part of setting you on the right track. We have a fantastic 4-day induction course which will be absolutely crucial to setting you up to succeed in our pub – we’re not prepared to compromise on our retail offers, and as such we won’t compromise on your training, regardless of your background. From retail standards to managing and training people. We also offer apprenticeships for you and your staff for further on-going support.
