The Wellington pub in Borehamwood re opened its doors over the weekend following a £530,000 investment. This stunning, historical pub has been re-developed and extended creating a fantastic outdoor eating and drinking area with covered seating that can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Bathrooms have been relocated to make a venue that is open, warm and welcoming for family and friends to enjoy on any occasion.

Speaking about the investment, Punch Managing Director, Andy Spencer said, “This is a significant and very special investment for The Wellington, and we are extremely proud of the new look created here. We wanted to create a brilliant pub that the community deserves, and we have certainly achieved that by matching this pub with great people to operate it”.

The Wellington has reopened with a new Publican at the helm, Shaun has a real passion for pubs and has great plans for the future. Customers will be spoilt for choice with an extensive range of craft and cask ales, gin and rum available. A brand-new quality food menu has also been introduced featuring all the favourites and an ever changing specials board to keep things fresh.

Shaun said, ‘’We were looking to move back to London and when we saw The Wellington we were drawn to the beautiful Victorian building. Once we spoke to Punch and saw the investment plans, we couldn’t wait to get going. The pub looks fantastic and we are really looking forward to welcoming customers new and old to see their new look pub. We have some exciting plans to bring this Victorian lady into the 21st Century, watch this space!’’

To match the quality food and drink offer, Shaun plans to host regular entertainment. From Eurovision parties and silent discos to everyone’s favourite quiz night, The Wellington is the place to be. Not forgetting the 4 screens that will show all the key sporting events throughout the year! Shaun and the team are passionate about bringing this epic pub back to the heart of the community.
