Overview

Looking to run a pub?

This traditional community value pub benefits from a high street location in the busy town of Dumbarton. The pub enjoys a loyal and lively weekend trade, boosted by entertainment. With investment being considered for potentially upgrading the function suite, the bar presents a clear opportunity to capitalise on a demand in the area for late night, weekend trade and private functions.

Business facilities

The Burgh Bar trades across a main public bar area and a large function room to the rear of the premises. It’s Cask Marque accredited and trades well, improved by recent investment and customer focus. Live TV sports are screened and free WiFi is available. The function room provides an opportunity to tap into demand for local events space and late night, older customer entertainment, especially at weekends. Outside, there’s a beer garden and a smoking solution.

Accommodation

There is no domestic accommodation at this site.

The local area

We’re planning investment to refurbish the existing function room with associated toilet facilities and a catering kitchen. The external smoking solution and beer garden will also be enhanced and we’ll upgrade the toilet facilities for the main bar. The exterior presentation will be addressed to account for the creation of the new function suite.

Dumbarton is a lively town on the outskirts of Glasgow. It’s a historical town with a strong local catchment area and customer base. There is a good pub circuit in the town centre and the Burgh Bar is on it.

This pub may suit

We’re looking for a strong, experienced operator, who’s familiar with the area and all competition. You’ll need to be able to relate well to the regulars and to build weekend trade through entertainment.
