The Crown is the only pub in the former mining village of Eythorne, just outside Dover. With a mainstream offer and Cask Marque accreditation, it’s the hub of the local community and its old world charm helps it to fit right in as a fixture of village life.
With its beamed ceiling and stone floor, this traditional-looking and Cask Marque accredited pub oozes rustic charm. It’s an open plan trading operation, with a public bar and adjoining dining room offering 30 covers. A function room upstairs can be used for entertainment and additional dining space, and free WiFi is provided throughout. Outside, there’s a beer garden to the rear of the pub, with a children’s play area, plus outside seating also to the side and front. The Crown offers parking for 24 vehicles.
The domestic accommodation consists of three bedrooms, a kitchen and a lounge. Punch will ensure that this accommodation is in good order.
Located about 7 miles north-west of Dover and only about 13 miles south-east of Canterbury, Eythorne is considered prime commuter territory. It’s a fairly large village and the residents of numerous other small communities nearby visit the pub for dining, as well as locals. The East Kent Heritage line also has a railway station in the village.
Ideal for a publican who wants to sample rural life. You’ll need a food background and an understanding of entertainment to drive footfall into the pub. The ability to engage in the local community will be a distinct advantage.
