This well-run pub has benefited from significant investment over the years and has forged a reputation for offering wholesome home-cooked local dishes and a good range of real ales. Our vision is for it to become a great destination mainstream pub. As the go-to country dining venue in the area, it should be a warm, welcoming pub with traditional styling that includes open fires. The Crown & Glove is Cask Marque accredited and enjoys great views. It’s an ideal meeting place for drinks with friend, for enjoying a tasty meal that features local and fresh produce and for regular entertainment such as pub quizzes.
The Crown & Glove is a traditional-looking stone-built pub, which enjoys a prominent hilltop position within Stannington. It trades across three key spaces. The main bar is predominantly used by locals, while the lounge area is split over two levels. The whole space can, however, be used for dining, with the pub’s kitchen comfortably catering for up to 30 covers. There’s also a quiet and cosy snug, which can double as a meeting room, and a tap room with a log fire. Free WiFi is provided throughout. Outside, there’s a small beer garden and parking for up to 20 vehicles.
The domestic accommodation consists of three bedrooms, a kitchen and a lounge. Punch will ensure that this accommodation is in good order.
We’re planning modest investment in this pub to refresh the look and feel as necessary.
Stannington is a suburb of Sheffield that lies on the western edge of the city’s urban area. It’s set in a rural location, surrounded by countryside and mid-way between Sheffield and the Peak District National Park. This area is popular with walkers and the pub is also close to the green space of Stannington Park. There are plenty of residential properties within easy walking distance and just over 2,000 people live within half a mile of the pub.
Ideal for an experienced food operator, with a passion for real ales and the desire to create a real focal point in this community. You’ll need to have a warm, friendly personality and solid marketing skills to make the most of this pub’s remote location and entice custom from further afield.
