Overlooking Whitby harbour, the Dolphin Hotel occupies a prime trading position in the centre of the seaside town. Situated at the main Swing Bridge, the pub is at the gateway between the historic and shopping areas of Whitby, so it sees plenty of passing trade. Operating under our retail concept, this high street mainstream pub has a fantastic drinks, food and letting room offer that’s highly successful. It also boasts a live music, TV sports, quiz and karaoke entertainment offer.
The Dolphin is an open plan trading operation with the added benefit of 6 beautifully designed en suite letting rooms. The impressive bar servery features a vast array of products from Cask Marque accredited real ales to world lagers to premium gins. A raised area to the left of the trading space enables customers to look out over Whitby harbour and watch the world go by. To the rear, there’s a great dining area, also overlooking the harbour, and the kitchen can cater for 60 covers. The pub also has an impressive outside drinking and eating area, complete with a smoking solution.
The domestic accommodation consists of one bedroom and a lounge. Punch will ensure that this accommodation is in good order.
We’re planning refurbishment investment to further improve the already great facilities here, with work covering the bar servery, internal decor and beer garden.
The historic seaside town of Whitby is a hugely popular tourist attraction, with many thousands of visitors each year. The Dolphin is perfectly placed and ready to benefit from the influx of visitors, offering accommodation as well as refreshment and entertainment. There are lots of local activities all year round, including regular festivals and events, that attract visitors and potential custom – whether they’re coming for the highly popular folk festival, goth weekends and regattas or the charming cobbled streets and boutique shops selling local memorabilia and souvenirs.
Ideal for a pub professional with a proven track record and the ability to work in the business on daily basis. Experience in food and hotels would be a distinct advantage, as would an ability to maximise exposure of the pub so that it can benefit from the many local events held in Whitby.
