About the local area
Upwey is small village just outside Weymouth and equally close to the busy town of Dorchester. Not far from the Jurassic coast, the area is a popular tourist destination for summer holidays and getaways throughout the year. Families flock to the many holiday parks in nearby Weymouth and throughout Dorset.
There is a strong community which supports The Old Ship Inn and The Royal Standard in this village and the current Publicans recognise the mutual success that both pubs have achieved by working together to drive customers to the village.
