This traditional-looking, stone-built community mainstream pub offers 10 letting rooms, which attract tourists, walkers and weekenders all year round. The Pont Y Pair benefited from major investment four years ago and has been very well looked after ever since.

Business facilities

The Pont Y Pair, Wales has a lovely homely feel.  Its central location in Betws-y-coed means it attracts plenty of footfall and its Cask Marque accreditation is also a draw. The 10 letting rooms pull in custom year-round. Downstairs, the pub has a main bar and sports area plus a small restaurant-cum-breakfast room to the right as you walk in. There’s a great commercial kitchen here and customers are encouraged to enjoy food at tables throughout the pub, not just in the restaurant area.  The kitchen can provide for up to 40 covers. Outside, the pub offers a beer garden with a new decked area and more tables, providing more covers during summer months. A smoking solution with heaters has also recently been installed.  Free WiFi is offered throughout.

The domestic accommodation consists of two bedrooms, a kitchen and a lounge. Punch will ensure that this accommodation is in good order.

The local area

The Pont Y Pair sits in a stunning location, surrounded by Snowdonia National Park. This really is a beautiful part of Wales. Betws-y-coed is known as a hub of hiking and outdoor activities and attracts plenty of visitors all year round. It’s also home to the Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre. It’s a small but thriving village. The nearest large communities are Bangor, about 45 minutes’ drive away, and Chester, which is over an hour distant.

This pub may suit

This pub with rooms will ideally be managed by a couple, so one can run the kitchen alongside the chef and the other can run the letting side of business, as enquiries and bookings take up a lot of time and effort in this tourist hotspot.

About the Agreement

Our Tenancy agreements vary between 3 – 5 years offer a flexible approach to running your own pub business. Your pub will be ready to trade, with carefully tailored food and drinks menus in place which you can evolve as you go along.

You will receive a high level of support and everything you need to run a successful business. From the beginning, you will have dedicated Punch Development Manager, plus access to training and development, business planning, operations and accounting expertise.

Once you’ve completed the 5-day induction course we’ll provide you with ongoing support to help you maximise the efficiency, sales and profitability of your pub. This includes helping you decide on the right drinks offer, guidance on margin and support creating a marketing plan to build for continued success. To help market your pub, we also offer lots of support and advice.

Punch Tenancy agreements have shared repairs liability, we will help you manage your ongoing repairing obligations. We do this by operating a repairs and maintenance fund for all new agreements.

* The calculation of the initial Ingoing Costs assumes a minimum deposit (£3,000 or £6,000) plus legal fees. The subsequent deposit build up (if any) will need to be paid over 52 weeks. This can be discussed with the recruitment team or Punch Development Manager
