Overview

Set in historic Marsden, the Shakespeare is a high street value pub that has the opportunity to tap into trade presented by the famous ale trail and a thriving local community. Establishing strong community links is key to success here and with very limited competition in the area, this pub could quickly become known for its advanced range and offering.

This spacious pub is about to benefit from investment to take it to the next level. Reflecting Marsden’s heritage, we’ll theme the pub around the history of fabrics that were produced by local factories. The bar is the central point in this pub. Facing into the lounge, it will serve a diverse range of Cask Marque accredited ales, world beers and also boast an impressive back bar of spirits. The lounge will be bright and inviting with comfy furniture. The kitchen can cater for up to 25 covers and free WiFi is provided throughout. Outside, the beer garden will be enhanced to offer optimal summer appeal, summer catching the eye of passing ramblers and ale trailers.

The domestic accommodation consists of four bedrooms, a kitchen and a lounge. Punch will ensure that this accommodation is in good order.

We’re planning significant investment in this pub, to include changing the bar layout and some of the lighting, internal redecoration and a redesign of the front beer garden.

We’re looking for a local operator with a good knowledge of Marsden. You’ll need to able to navigate cask beers, community initiatives and be a keen Yorkshire cook!
