Looking to run a pub
The Wellwood Arms is an attractive stone-built community mainstream pub with letting rooms that’s located on the busy Northumberland Coastal Route in the town of Amble. The pub has developed a good reputation for food over recent years and attracts locals from the town as well as the many visitors to the caravan parks and surrounding villages. We’re planning investment to make this business the most premium dining and drinking pub in the Amble area.
The pub is divided into three main areas: a public bar with an open fire, a snug/breakfast area and a larger dining room that doubles as a function room. The catering kitchen can provide for up to 60 covers at full capacity. Upstairs, there are 4 letting rooms, which have benefited from recent investment and are very popular throughout the year. Outside, there’s a small beer garden, a smoking solution and parking for 12 vehicles. Free WiFi is provided.
The domestic accommodation consists of two bedrooms, a kitchen and a lounge. Punch will ensure that this accommodation is in good order.

About the local area
Amble is a bustling town on the Northumberland coast, which has benefited from significant investment in recent years. A new harbour and seafood market have been built, attracting substantial visitors each week and a number of quality food businesses and restaurants have also opened in the last few years. Amble is located close to other popular local tourist destinations – such as Warkworth, Alnmouth, Alnwick and Craster – and can be used as a hub for tourists visiting the area and exploring the Northumberland Coastal Route.
We’re looking for an experienced food operator, who can deal with a high-volume operation, while also maintaining exemplary all-round standards. You’ll need to be someone who can lead and manage and train a team of people to deliver a quality offer across all wet, dry and rooms aspects of the pub. Some local knowledge and kinship with local customers would also be beneficial.
