Could you run this pub?

The White Horse is a stunning period property with some truly outstanding features – and potential to match. This community mainstream pub certainly has a hint of a ‘destination’ feel about it. It has recently benefited from significant investment, with extensive interior and exterior redecoration enhancing an already a much-loved community watering hole. The pub currently trades well with a real mix of walk-in and drive-to customers, but there’s a clear opportunity to further develop the already popular offer. The pub sits at the heart of the community, enjoying the custom of a very loyal base.

Business facilities

This eye-catching pub has a lovely traditional feel, with two real fires contributing to a cosy and welcoming atmosphere week round. The interior of the pub is a large one-room operation, flanked by a fireplace on either side. A clearly defined bar area opens into a comfortable lounge. The pub serves a great range of cask ale and there is huge potential for a strong food offer to complement the existing wet trade. The White Horse is very popular among pub teams and TV sports fans and is known for its weekend entertainment. It sits on a large roadside plot, with an extensive beer garden that’s the place to be on warm summer evenings. There’s also a spacious car park and a smoking solution.

The domestic accommodation consists of two bedrooms, a kitchen and a lounge. Punch will ensure that this accommodation is in good order.

About the local area

The White Horse occupies a large standalone plot on a main bus route in Harwood, a mile or so north-east of the former mill town of Bolton, with views over mature farmland to the rear. Harwood is a very large suburb, boasting a number of schools and established residential areas, and is located close to major travel routes around the Greater Manchester region. The pub sits in a much-loved and busy area, surrounded by large communities and mature housing. New housing is currently under construction, so the pub is now ready for new customers and the arrival of a quality operator. The pub trades well with a real mix of walk-in and drive-to customers.
